Tourism

TOURISM IN THE NIAGARA region is a vital part of the economy, generating over $1.7 billion in economic activity annually and providing nearly 44,000 jobs. Nearly 50% of all tourists entering the province go to the Niagara region, accounting for 40% of the Ontario tourism industry. Approximately 20 million people visit the Niagara region each year, and Falls Management Company is working to expand that tourist base by creating prestigious, year-round tourist attractors and complementing existing local tourism infrastructure. By 2016, tourism is expected to increase from 20 million to 30 million annual visitors.

Falls Management Company is working to increase the numbers of visitors, the length of their stay and their spending in the Niagara region. It is building momentum to create an economically viable, sustainable and renewable driver for the economy both locally and province-wide.
